Our on-site practical lift truck training / forklift certification course will teach your employees and participants the correct way to identify specific health and safety hazards in the workplace associated with operating a powered industrial lift truck. Fork Truck Operator Training Course Content:

There are two segments to the forklift certification program which include classroom theory & practical evaluation.

  • Pre-shift inspection requirements, including Visual Inspection and Operational Pre-Use
  • Review the classifications of Industrial Forklifts and highlight the differences
  • Identify and list specific driving rules to your workplace use of Industrial Forklifts
  • Capacity of Industrial Forklifts, capacity plates (reading & understanding)
  • Specific hazards & controls when driving an Industrial Forklift.
  • Centre of Gravity of the load & Centre of Gravity of the truck.
  • Stability triangle / trapezoid.
  • How to respond to an emergency situation involving an Industrial Forklift Truck.
  • Review all legislations, fines and penalties relating to the (OSHA) Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Outline the responsibilities of the Owner, Employer, Supervisors, and Workers.
  • Options available to a driver who is asked to perform unsafe work, or an unsafe act.
  • Group discussion on experiences of actual incidents or close calls.
  • Consequences of unsafe driving of an Industrial Fork Truck: Legal, Moral, Ethical, Social and Psychological.
  • Forklift training will involve verification and review utilizing a 50 question test in True & False format.


NOTE: If your Industrial fork truck is propane powered "Certification" for the participant in "Safe Propane Cylinder Exhange Handling" as required by the Energy Act of Ontario will also be included in this forklift operator training program.
Forklift Safety & Inspections

Forklift inspections are just as important as the safe handling and use of a forklift. Since a forklift performs such heavy duties at any given time it can incur damage, this damage if undetected could lead to a potential hazardous environment to the operator and/or fellow co-workers in the vicinity.

How long does the forklift safety training course take?

The theory segment is approximately four hours in length. All fork truck training and reviews are delivered on site and scheduled to your convenience (off shifts, weekends, whenever and wherever).
